Tell me river,
Testify,
Of distant peace,
Of times gone by.

Tell me river,
Read the stones,
The secrets told,
Outlast the bones.

Tell me river,
Witness true,
Of ones your loved,
Who so loved you.

Tell me river,
Can it be –
You took the tears,
And filled the sea?

Hush now river,
Take me in,
We’ll drink the rain,
And love again.

Still now river,
Cool and deep,
And let the night,
Sing us to sleep.
